Imposing Single Family Residence in Spain: Huete House

BmasC Architects have designed the Huete House , a single family residence in Muñopepe, Spain. By “domesticating the last stones of the hillside”, the architects managed to build a massive home on the border between the Avila mountains in Munopepe and the nearby village.The residence consists of a series of “boxes” opening up towards the village through glass facades. Here is more on the structure of the home from the architects: “ The largest boxes, which flank the house on opposite ends, remain vertically open to accommodate a communal program and a studio space. The smaller volumes cater to the more private programs with the sleeping quarters elevated above a sheltered void space. The ambiguous indoor/outdoor area provides separation between the domestic zone and studio but remain connected through a second level corridor “.
