Spectacular Blend of Nature & Living: The Pierre Residence

Nestled between giant boulders and overlooking the San Juan Archipelago, this fascinating looking house comes from Olson Kundig Architects and is also known as  the Pierre residence. We consider this project to be a beautiful and inspiring example of how to combine natural elements with contemporary building designs. The Pierre house was constructed more or less using local materials which is also why it seems to integrate so well in its landscape. The concrete and glass create a nice contrast and together with the rocky formations form one of the most intriguing house facades we’ve seen lately. Even though the exterior could lead one to believe this residence has a modern indoor design, the furniture elements come to negate this first impression.
